Yoga Nidra is a form of meditation and transformation whose roots are grounded in yogic tradition. The framework of Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra is based on the yogic model of the koshas who represent the layers or sheaths of our being - physical, energetic, emotional, mental, intuitive, and spiritual. This process of guided meditation gives us an experience of being aware of each kosha to bring us to the deepest part of our being, our true selves.
An inviting practice, it can be used by everyone regardless of age, physical ability, religion or belief. All that is required is to lie down or sit comfortably and listen, giving yourself permission to rest, balance and restore.
Susan McCourt is a Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra guide, having completed the 40-hr CE Certificate Training recognized by Yoga Alliance YACEP, trained by creator Jennifer Reis, Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health faculty member. She was first introduced to Divine Sleep® Yoga Nidra in March 2020 and immediately felt the benefits. She continued her practice and was trained in 2024 to lead others in this form of guided meditation.
Susan is excited to introduce others to the transformational power available in the practice to experience complete relaxation and peace, not only for the physical body, but also for deeper emotional and mental systems, penetrating to the root of anxiety and stresses, and allowing the the release of subconscious tensions and tendencies that inhibit us from living fully.
